I'm doing a separate one for submissions since it gets too cluttered otherwise.

Looks great. I am new to the BJJ world and was trying to put the stuff down on paper sorta like this, but not only do I not understand all the connections yet, when I tried to add techniques in the areas it became a mess. This looks way better already though!

Holtrain, asking the Aesopian, he talked about his training schedule once and it was interesting to hear about. I'd like to hear his take on how often to spar....

Funny, I was working on exactly the same thing over the weekend.

But rather than a general jiu jitsu map, I was trying to map out my own specific jiu jitsu game.

So it's a little more directional, sort of half map/half flow chart. You could say I'm combining the concept map idea with a sort of reverse engineering of Lloyd Irvin's "specialization" theory.

Looking forward to see how Aesopian's map develops.

How about an update on your personal training schedule?

Also, how many times a week can you spar? I had a discussion with a friend yesterday. I took the position that beyond 3x a week, sparring breaks me down. He took the position that you have to break through the 3x a week barrier then you "toughen up". I view sparring as the bjj equivalent to weight training - you need "off" days. He views sparring like drilling - you can't get too much. What do you think?

Great Site, nice job of really digging into the game. I like what you have done here with your whiteboard keep up the creativity. I too use a white board quite often when mapping out training sessions and brainstorming it is an invaluble tool!
